The mission of the foundation is to improve the lives of young people 5 to 25 in the United States through research. The foundation supports high-quality research that is relevant to policies and practices that affect the lives of young people and that build stronger theory and empirical evidence. Currently, the foundation is funding research that increases understanding of: 1) programs, policies, and practices that reduce inequality in youth outcomes, and 2) strategies to improve the use of research evidence in ways that benefit youth.
